Laws of the Other World Chapter Dropped Discussion

The world building is definitely in the top 10s for BL - possibly the action too.

The characters are good, they each have their own quirks and are pretty memorable - though our MCs motivation goes from going on a 100% death rate mission to save his little brother to literally only being able to think of Mo Ye when asked what he holds important (and this is before the romance), so dont expect too much in regularity for MC or ML.

Where it falls flat is romance, MLs form gets revealed, MC thinks ML deceived him, then not even 10 chapters later MC reciprocates a kiss. MC continues to be kinda on the fence about things for a while longer but at this point theyre already a couple lmao. I legitimately dont know what people were talking about with slow romance, bec sure MC is still iffy about it but within 10 chapters of MLs reveal he's already kissing him, and atleast I would count a kiss as romance.

Also MC literally has a moment where he thinks that ML, in Night Spirit form, is sensual and I dont know what to make of that - is this the slow romance people were talking about? Is it because MC started falling inlove with ML when he was literally animal shaped? I dont doubt it from all of the paragraphs we had to read of MC looking into his mesmerizing, liquid gold, shining eyes that suck your soul in and make you think youre the most important and blah blah blah but like really?

We had a good 40 chapters of MC literally replacing his little brothers spot in his most important with ML (he admits to this! Its canon!) and being mesmerizing by his eyes, showering with him, sleeping with him, getting a boner from him - granted this is bec of ML but even without we have a worrying amount of instances where MC describes what his finger being s**ked feels like - and then not even 7 chapters after MLs human form is revealed to MC they're kissing??

I dont know about yall but I wouldnt kiss my cat no matter how long itd been if he transformed into a handsome man.

Dont even mention side CPs, theyre all bad. Theres no good romance anywhere in this story.

Aside from horrible romance this was actually pretty good, but I only kept reading to hear Wu Yun spill facts ("stop spoiling him ZY! You wont be able to say no ZY!" "he wants you to give him a striptease ZY" "Hes so strong he could do anything to you and you wouldn't be able to fight back ZY!"). He's the 'crow mouth', the one who always jinxes everything, but at this point hes more like a prophet lmao.

Im honestly very disappointed in this, I expected a lot better on the romance front - and even if it was fast I would have been fine with something that had a bit more emotion! But instead we have an ML who keeps MC as nutrition (and only likes him because hes the first person he saw when he hatched) and an MC who has arguable attraction for an animal - and then gets seduced into kissing said animal within 2 days of seeing it in human form.
