A translator for the novel here :D Currently halfway through the novel, and I have enjoyed it a lot! There are some parts where I did not enjoy as much such as the hyper-nationalism that another reviewer mentioned, one of the smaller antagonists being dealt with very suddenly that it was a bit jarring, and

the ML saying that the kiss with MC was his first kiss. I just exited the app and went....I don't trust that. Yeah, it's sweet. But surely as an idol, he would have acted in dramas/movies/music videos where he has/is a romantic interest? Wouldn't you have to act out kissing? Idk

I chose to overlook these points though since they are quite short and don't take up that much of the story.

But other than that it seems that they have pretty good dynamics and chemistry, and the plot was engaging throughout. Many fluffy moments between the ML and MC to balance out some of the hardships/misunderstandings MC goes through in the beginning. Misunderstandings between the ML and MC are quickly resolved. A bit of a slow burn, but they start caring for each other very early on.

Some people may find the MC and his family a bit dense or flat, but I felt that the MC's reactions whenever the ML is around are reasonable. How would you react around your favourite idol? Lmao, I'm pretty sure I would have done worse than the MC 😂 As for his family, since they are not transmigrated individuals, they pretty much follow the mould that the fanfiction author wrote (which are moronic cannon fodders). Their thinking is straightforward (protect the MC since they really love him a lot + especially when he shows that he cares for them as well), and sometimes have certain characteristics just to drive the antagonist image. They do prove to be more than the 2D cannon fodders as the MC spends more time with them though.

For example, the MC's older sister being so head over heels for one of the antagonists that she thought the MC was joking when he said it was her boyfriend who pushed him. I thought it was pretty in line with the characterisation, especially if the original owner of the MC was protective of his sister as well. Once she got solid evidence that MC was being mistreated by him, she quickly broke off things and took the MC's side.

The misunderstanding of his younger brother's character, where he is brash and gets mistaken for bullying other students. Glad that the MC quickly cleared that up, and got him a new friend. Which was such good CP material I felt that the author wasted that opportunity when she confirmed that they are not a CP.
