At first I loved the novel but as others have commented perfectly the sequence of face slapping and melon eating gets repetitive and some canonfodder didn't deserve as harsh of an ending as given.

The story became a constant line of face slapping. Filled with toxic gossip yet it's mc's main personality.

MC and Ml, The family, the Netizens. They are disappointing because they seem to lack any empathy. Simply living for entertainment.

Man wouldn't it be so interesting if MC gets called out by the Ml. Eventually changing from a melon eater to a man who was once a melon and learns to treat people with more understanding. Helping those that were bullied instead of just letting things get naturally resolved.

Even better if the eating disorder episode made him realize melon eating is at times disdainful and slowly changes the habits of those around him to helping others instead of just watching. Changing the theme twords gradual redemption and self improvement.
