Hi Guys! Hope you're all doing well. This is my first time doing this, so... here we go.

First off, I'll say if you're into series like Crazy Demon, I'd say this series will be right up your alley.

The series starts with Ruin, the protagonist, dying while trying to finish off the expedition to kill the Demon King of the Demon Realm/Yin Dimension. After his death, he is reincarnated as the eldest son of the Samael Clan, the clan he was apart of in the past. The Samael clan was once known as the greatest clan on the continent and as the most powerful magical clan on the continent. It was one of the 6 great clans that funded and spearheaded the Demon Realm Expedition; unfortunately, it seems after the expedition the clan took the greatest amount of damage and fell into (no pun intended) ruin. Now our MC, a full-fledged Samael in this life, is coming to terms with the current situation. At first he's reluctant to get too involved with the clan and was planning on escaping due to the memories of the past and the pain it brings. However, it's because of how much the people in the current Samael still remind him of his companions in the past that he resolves himself to restore the clan to it's former glory.

That's the jist of the beginning portion of the series's first arc. In this instance, I'd like to lump the series into two major arcs currently:

Spoiler

The Bayern Arc and the Urgon Arc

[collapse]

I don't want to get too far into spoilers, so I'll list a few of the things I like and one gripe I had so far and then end the review.

First off, I like the characters in the series a lot; they all got their own quirks and fun moments with good action scenes. I especially like the MC. Ruin reminds me of a more... how should I put this... balanced version of the MC from Crazy Demon. He's got interesting thoughts and perspectives; he's also got great comedy moments as well and the author knows how to balance the crazy moments with the serious moments he's in. He's a proactive protagonist that moves the story forward in an interesting direction. The Side cast does well to bounce off of him and they create heartwarming and fun moments that solidifies the plot in my mind.

Now, moving on from the characters, I'd like to talk about the action again. The action is very fluid and flows nicely. I can get a sense that, at the very least, the author has some idea of how to write fight scenes and knows how their characters fight and how they want to... I guess use the fight to push their points and Narritives forward.

The overall plot and lore are nothing unique, but it does have it's own interesting takes and twists on the genre. Personally speaking, I haven't read a story where:

Spoiler

The entire field of magic basically regressed, and now mages are using cores instead of circles.

[collapse]

The Demon realm and the Yin mana are also interesting too; once again, it's nothing unique, but in my eyes, it provides a lot of mystery and intrigue into the world of Crazy Mage. The main questions the series presents are what's going to be the main driving force of this series, and I hope that the story can give satisfying answers to these questions in the future.

Now that I'm done listing the things I like, I'll list one thing that did bug me. I feel like during the Spoiler

Middle Protion of the Bayern Arc

[collapse] of the arc. In retrospect, I can see why the arc is necessary, and it did end with a satisfying conclusion. I just hope the other can limit the portions that can potentially drag out the series.

Overall, I'd say the series is worth a try, and I would encourage anyone who's interested to give this series a shot. Happy Readings!

How I wished I had waited to start reading this book so I could binge read when it was completed! Such a good book just hate that I’m so impatient! How often do you update?
