Honestly, I am not sure what to think of this series. On the one hand, I have heard it gets good later on, or at least the style of interesting enough to explore that I otherwise might enjoy. On the other hand, it really tries to invoke Berserk syndrome (a personal definition to when a series ab*ses its main char/cast so much it's not dark or grim, just boring, predictable, and numbing) in the first volume. I get it, bad things happened to poor isekai'd boy. So many bad things happen to him with extreme exaggeration that I am uncertain if MC is supposed to even be a functional character later on. Apparently, it veers into the usual territory of bland old isekai somehow later on with no consequences from the start. That isn't a smart move, that is bad continuity.I can't really think of a reason to read this, just go to Arifureta or Abnormal status if you want a "grim start" that changes course into usual isekai flavor later on. Berserk did the whole routine, and this tries to evoke it to decent success (boring me until I dropped it) but then fails to stick the landing later on.
