I have mixed feelings about this story, there are several things I can criticize and praise about it.lets start with the negative aspects of the novel: it goes from one end of the extreme spectrum to the other. With this I mean the 2 complete tone changes that happen within this story. The first bit is similar to what the description says., which I quite enjoyed to read. Then the tone completely switches to a romance slice of life and side stories. Neither really move the main plot anymore, and it's like this for about 450 chapters. If you were to skip these chapters, you would not miss much relevant information, I nearly dropped the novel because of this. However, after getting though these chapters, the story really picks up again turning back to it's roots but at a faster pace (less description of the grinding). The lack of progression does tie back to the conclusion of the story though.next negative: the gender change bit in this story is nothing more than a gag. If the MC was male, not much would change I think. Especially with the gender change skill the MC obtains really early in the story (before the gender was ambiguous anyway) small positive: it is later explained how the MC can accept and adapt to living as a girl so easily and I like the fact that his romantic partner also obtains this skill later in the story. (It really fits the partners character) now to the positives:
- it's not a typical harem story! With this I mean side characters aren't hopelessly pursuing the MC, rather they find their own love interests and live their lives without the MC's involvement as well.
- the romance is consistent, but unique to each pair. (Ranging from really shy to straight up yandere)
- the characters grow in personality and behavior
- the action is well written and does not rely on plot armor (anyone can die)
- real danger.
- plot twists are logical and had enough preparation.
- almost no overly lengthy narrated explanations.
- lives up to the name level maker.
