The premise was setup to be a Yandere harem story with an interesting supernatural twist. There were a lot of potential plot points initially brought up that could have been expanded upon and used as setup for entertaining arcs, but just fell flat as the author fell back on a safe generic romance plot.Spoiler
Biggest example were the beads gifted to MC. They were brought up and mentioned here and there initially, but never play any major plot significance. I feel like there was a missed opportunity for the NTR antagonist to also have his own supernatural powers that mirrors the beads since he’s described as this Chad but all his actions in the story betrays this fact, so him having his own powers would be a good way to explain his popularity as well as why the childhood friend just randomly seemed to fall in love with him.
[collapse]Overall there was some potential, but author forwent that to pursue a generic Yandere romance plot with a generic revenge from being rejected subplot. Maybe the author somehow makes drastic improvements in the next 20 chapters, but taking a sneak peak at the end, I doubt it and I don’t have the energy to keep reading to see if that’s the case.
