The novel is just too boring. I forced myself to read until chapter 90, but I just can't go on anymore.

This is a slice of life interstellar novel that is full of fluff, which could have been interesting, but the author gives no depth at all. The concept and first 20 or so chapters were really cute.

***RANT AHEAD***

The MC is transmigrated into a mermaid, but we get to know nothing of who he is, his thoughts, his past nothing. Just he is a mermaid now, doesn't care, and wants to help the ML because he is a character of a book he read. We do eventually get to know a bit of who he was, but it was summed up in a couple of paragraphs. We never get to know why he is obsessed with the ML, when he fell in love with ML, nothing really about him, other than he is obsessed with the ML. Seriously, he won't even make friends with another mermaid, let alone other humans, it's like all brain cells can only have ML in them. Even with the blind obsession, I liked the MC at first, but then the 2nd half of the novel he becomes completely apathetic to everyone else but ML and becomes annoyingly clingy/pampered. Also not sure why he was a mermaid, he hardly ever turns into a mermaid, felt like a lost opportunity.

ML is okay, again though, no reason or process of falling for MC, he just likes him. He doesn't get much of a personality, but that is typical for many cnovel MLs. He gets randomly over protective even though MC can kick ass. He says he can't have cold things because it's bad for him, but he is a mermaid so the cold doesn't affect him, it was just random

Romance is meh. There was zero courtship and just a bunch of fluff. I like fluff as much as the next person, but I can't help but feel that if the author put in half the effort into the story that they did into the fluff, the novel could have been decent. Any actual plots are quickly glossed over by the author in favor of more fluff.
