A complete fluff piece! I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it’s definitely a lot more chill than the summary initially made it appear. The novel focuses mainly on the wholesome relationship between the MC (Jun Qingyu) and the ML (Fu Yuanchuan). The MC transmigrated into a tiny little mermaid after reading a book where the ML had gotten a BE. His motivations for helping the ML to the extent that he does is unexplained, but he’s very affection to the ML from the get-go. Going as far as to take revenge for him before they even met. The ML repays this care by doting on the only mermaid that would accept him — it’s all exceptionally sweet~I didn’t finish reading the novel but it was content with where I left off. There’s some external plot going on, but I mainly cared about the development of the main couple and, anyway, since the TL is unfinished, I decided it would be best to stop while I was ahead and just come back for a reread later! I read a similar novel before this, “After Becoming a Mermaid, I was raised”, with a similar premise. But the vibe of both novels are quite different. The aforementioned novel was very super light while this novel is more subtly sweet.Keeping it unrated for now cause I didn’t actually finish reading it.
