It’s early on into the story so hopefully my rating will rise as it progresses.However...I’m usually a fan of the “mean ML” troupe because I enjoy angst and find redemption/regret arcs really interesting but Ian is just extremely irritating and lacks consistency. In a mere 13 chapters he’s done practically nothing yet still somehow earned my resentment, it’s almost impressive. I love a cold ML but he has zero appeal to me. His implied feelings for the side character who’s such a bratty and entitled woman are so strange to me and seem very out of character for someone who seems to hold even a slight bit of empathy. Don’t even get me started on how he did such a shameful thing to our FL at her mothers funeral!? He’s just so boring and the fact that he has feelings for such an annoying woman that bullied an innocent child yet somehow simultaneously looks down on our FL is so mind boggling to me.
