After completing the 57 translated chapters and going to the MTL, I realized that the translator actually split one chapter into three parts. So in actual fact, in a certain website its only upto Chapter 18ish if I recall correctly.No wonder I felt that the story progressed so slowly despite already being in what I thought was C57 in a 128chapter novel... -.-Now onward to actual thoughts about novel:FL’s personality is very interesting. She doesn’t want to exert energy doing useless/unimportant things and just want to chill. She does like to tease her other shu sisters and also Xie Ce, her stepson.I enjoyed reading the interactions between her and the stepson! It is so funny. She teases the little 2yr old boy a lot.Her relationship with ML is subtle. ML is brought up to be strict, striving perfection, and he works hard in his job. He mentions that love should not get in the way of his work in the beginning and so all he wants is a wife to accompany him through life, not making trouble. His first wife Yin Mingfu, FL’s older di sister was very filial and worked hard to give a good impression to ML’s family. She wanted to be a super virtuous wife. But she also wanted ML to dote on her and show he loves her. However ML is just too cold. He did his husbandly duties but did not show enough “loving” emotion to please his first wife. Its mentioned that their relationship seemed strained because of that.Now with FL who doesn’t care about love.. does whatever she wants.. chills... ML is intrigued. She pretends to be docile in front of ML’s parents but shows her true lazy self to him. He appreciates the fact that FL does her duties and also doesn’t fuss over “love”.Anyway I haven’t read enough to see how far their relationship progressed.Reason why I’m stopping - MTL is readable but some things are just annoying. For example both Old Madam Xie (grandma) and Madam Xie (ML’s mother) are MTLed to Mrs Xie. So when I’m reading I’m confused as to who’s actually talking. So I’ll just wait for the fantranslation which is great.
