I don't get why people say this is worse, that's just my opinion since I only read the translated English versions and since the original barely got translated. Either way this is just what an isekai would be if you had no cheats. Like god damn he has a sad background but what does he do, he can't do anything since he is weak and so he trains and becomes what an average person can achieve, he is considered strong but only because he is average so he uses everything he can to survive where pride does no matter and its only a matter winning or losing or just surviving/escaping. I like him for always thinking of the world in a gray manner not idealistic or too pessimistic but always a backup plan in case of something goes wrong.
