Evade The Hero and Flee! Chapter 2 Discussion

This is the first novel I've ever dropped so early on, and the reason is the POV changes.

I have not idea what the author was expecting to accomplish with this. He starts off with a good prologue and then chapter 1 kicks off a flashback. So far so good, except it's weird that I still don't even know the MC's name yet.

Then the story immediately has another time skip and after that point it's a complete clusterf***. How far have we skipped forward? To when the MC is starting off his training, or past that point to when he's an instructor? Is Naruan the name of the MC, or the name of the MC's teacher? Why do these scenes seem so repetitive already?

By the time I eventually figured out the answer to all these questions my motivation for reading any more evaporated.
