The Martial God who Regressed Back to Level 2 Chapter 156 Discussion

This author blends common tropes together and writes them well enough to show why tropes are tropes. Regression, face slapping, OpMC, progressively stronger enemies, system, etc. All these tropes, yet the story still doesn't feel stale to read (I wouldn't say fresh though). I know why I'm reading this, for the rush of growing stronger, overcoming adversity, and showing off the strength gained, the payoff. However, what really makes this work together is that the author actually made a (relatively) unique world, pleasing main characters, an intriguing mystery and threatening adversities along with relatively weak opponents to show off with.

Spoiler

One thing I dislike though, there are a bit too many girls around him, the summon, the gambler, gambler's aide, the niece, the foreigner, etc. Making a not-harem since there is no real romantic elements in the novel, so why are most of them female. Most, if not all of the males (not the MC) seems to be not very helpful/powerful allies, neutral, or powerful enemies to the MC.

[collapse]

Although, a bit of caution needs to be stated here. These types of novels can get stale, especially when binging and usually into the later parts. If the worldbuilding gets ignored, allies become cheerleaders, or progress toward the main plot gets stalled for too long (mainly by faceslapping too much), the story would suffer. Hope this doesn't happen as this story is good at getting my dopamine rushing.
