[Edit]OK, so the main problem with the series is that it's a Chinese web novel with 50 billion chapters and the author paces it as such. The story, and yuri, don't pick up until around chapter 250, but when it does, it's pretty good. Still kinda hard to sell someone else on "just get through the first 3 seasons of this TV show, it gets good eventually" but the first 200 chapters really do feel like a long, drawn out introduction where most of the characters and setting are introduced before the real book gets going. [Edit]Not bad, but not great. I got a little bored of the novel a ways back and am only sticking through with it based on the translator's comment about the second arc, the auction house, being notably worse than the later arcs. Some people are complaining about the chunni being overdone, but in my opinion, it's almost not even present. I'm not sure what everyone is going on about. My biggest gripe about the series is the "Harem" the title of the series talks about, or rather the complete lack of one. I'm not complaining about how there's no smut or something, but I'm 200 chapters into this thing and not once have I seen the MC show any s*xual interest in any character they meet. It's to the point that I only remembered it's supposed to exist when I bothered to read the whole title out a week ago. Slow romance is fine, but the character doesn't even comment on the idea itself. If someone told me that the title is a mistranslation, I'd believe them.Other than that, this is a standard Chinese web novel that never tries to break out of that mould, expect face slapping and other Xianxia troupes lurking at every corner.
