It's interesting but alot of it is unnecessarily convoluted and confusing due to what seems to be foreshadowing/background for future events. It gives the feeling that it will spin us an epic tale but the confusing writing is a turn off. The feeling that it will eventually become something great doesn't excuse what feels like unnecessary confusion of readers especially when you consider other novels (like lord of the mysteries for example) that spins you epic tales with a lot of early foreshadowing and hints without confusing the heck out of you.
