This is a still ongoing novel which I have been following for a while now.Basically, if you enjoy Pokemon, you'll enjoy this. The mechanisms are not the same, but the way the magical critters interact with humanity in the various ways are very reminiscent of the anime. SpoilerPokemon...I mean, magic pets. And there are also many ways in which professions and jobs within a society may change due to the presence of Pokemon pets. It's all fun to explore.MC's personality is a strange mix of jaded and naive. Because she's a transmigrator, she's got experience with life in socializing with her peers/betters, making deals and contracts, and spotting scams. On the other hand, her lack of memories growing up in Pokeland magic pets world and the fast pace at which she gets sent to various different places, makes her very inexperienced and ignorant about things that other people take for common knowledge, or who learned in the high school terms that she skipped. Her pets also get a lot of detailed characterization, such that they are very much major support characters of their own rather than just footnotes to the protagonist. It's the characterization (along with the well written fight scenes) that make you want to root for them despite the lack of suspense as to the final result of the competition.
The main character's pets are also very reminiscent of Growlithe/Arcanine, Hoopa, Vaporeon, Mega-Pinsir...
[collapse]So far the MC has won every official fight she's been in, and even most of the conflicts in the wild where she ended up facing higher level trainers and pets. So in that respect, there's not as much suspense at this point as to the end results of her fights. However, the author is really good at coming up with interesting tactics and describing them, so the fights themselves are fun to read. The world building is also great, not only do you have many "provinces"/zones on the planet which have different environments and cultures to explore, there are also different planets altogether. People in different places can also have different attitudes and relationships with the
