Dare to Take Me as a Stand-in? Are You Worthy? Chapter 41 Discussion

Pretty good. It’s a short face-slapping novel with an OP protagonist. There is no tension, since the MC has the upper hand at all times, but that can be nice sometimes.

I didn’t like the romance subplot at all, but that could be a matter of taste. Spoiler

The ML is one of those psychotic yandere fake white lotus types (acts meek in front of MC but is basically a sociopath who only cares about MC), which is a character type I personally hate. Also, since the ML was the MC’s disciple in the other world, MC raised him from childhood, which I know is a divisive trope.

Some things were glossed over that probably should have been expanded on. Like, it was implied that Spoiler

the rogue system influenced MC’s brother to hate the MC, but I think more detail on that would have been nice to explain the depth of MC’s brother’s hatred. Also, the powers of the rogue system were very unclear. There was some implication that maybe it had a halo effect that helped MC’s brother build a harem, but that was never stated outright. Also, I don’t understand the rogue system’s motive for causing trouble at all.
