Let All the Officials Hear My Thoughts; I’m Just Going to Slack off and Watch the Drama Chapter C343 Discussion

This is a hilarious story to read. As per the summary, FL is a salted fish whose number one joy in life is GOSSIP. She loves gossip, loves admiring beautiful woman, an air head and very very wild.

The whole novel is just about her shenanigans with the System as they go about finding gossip and wrecking havoc. The Emperor enjoys the gossip and actually released an edict forbidding everyone to tell FL that they can hear her thoughts. So everyone is eager to listen into the gossip lol.

The gossip that she uncovers is also not very bad as compared to the drama that happens in other novels.

There is no harem politics nor throne ascension drama. The Emperor and his harem are peaceful, Princes don't fight with one another. But the gossip that happens are usually about ridiculous funny things like the Second Prince being so sure of his bed skills but in actual fact his wife hates it and acts like she enjoys it.

The drama or gossip is never anything overly bad and the humor is often there. Some recurring jokes are about the Emperor being a miser, FL sitting on a pig and roaming the area in search of gossip...

Just some thoughts though: There are some racist undertones imo. Several chapters are about blackface humor, there's mentions of curly hair making the FL look like an indian monk... Here are some excerpts.. I don't think the author means it in a mean-spirited way but it still isn't that nice to read...

They are the two most conspicuous people on this street. These two shiny black heads have become the most eye-catching scenery on this street.

The System was almost laughing like crazy: [Why are you making things difficult for me? With your black face, who can tell who you look like? The species you most resemble right now is a chimpanzee.]

I also don't agree with one reviewer that FL's dad has anger issues. In the beginning he does seem like he blows up a lot but that's only because the FL is super ridiculous and he's trying to discipline her. He is actually the one that dotes on her the most and her bond with her father is actually quite nice.

Minister Lin worries about her constantly. This is one excerpt:

Minister Lin immediately turned into a roaring emperor: "How can I not panic! That's my daughter in there! She has lived happily since she was a child and has never encountered such a thing. She will definitely be scared!"

He pampers her, carries her whenever she wants to and runs after her to make sure she doesn't get in trouble (much). Honestly he is a saint for how much he puts up with hahaha. His daughter is a frightful terror.

The family relationship is great and they're all so protective of the FL that she grew up fearless and wild.

"The love of her parents gave her confidence, and the care of her brothers and sisters gave her strength, because no matter what happened, her family was behind her." FL knows it too.

Romance:

I actually thought the romance tag was added wrongly... In the end there are hints of romance between the side characters like her brother and sister. The doting husband trope is frequently present in this novel- Minister Lin absolutely loves his wife, the Crown Prince as well and several others. AND there is actually a MALE LEAD in this chaotic novel!!!! But the romance is super duper slow because both the FL and ML are clueless airheads.

The male lead is... THE SYSTEM. System gains a human form and is called Bai Xiao and he goes on adventures with FL to find gossip!!!! Her family and the whole country knows he marries into the Lin family. Omg I did not see this coming. By the way our FL is into f*mdom and also she was the one wearing groom wear while System wore the bridal clothes.

"On the wedding night, Lin Mo indulged her lust to the extreme, and Bai Xiao let her do whatever she wanted.

Lin Mo: [Hehehe, I was really awesome last night! Please call me a fierce girl! ]

Bai Xiao chuckled, his smile was a little silly."

Basically a funny as heck story but do note that there are some parts that were uncomfortable to me - the blackface chapters started around pg154 in the MTL. Lasted for about 20-30 pages.
