I like the heavy whitewashing manipulation; and that the love interest is freaky ig. The romance and relationships is hot garbage, but they're reminiscent of telenovela dramas. This is my first time rereading the novel thanks to the manga adaptation. And the flaws really do show in the manga...End game couples:Spoiler
- Jolga /Anderheim "Anri." Anri is the evil prime minister who has gain prestige and money in illicit ways. A catalyst caused change, now Anri seeks revenge on those who wronged his daughter Julieta. Jolga is the knight commander who is disciplined and righteous. Anri presents himself in a specific way to seduce Jolga, and he's successfully corrupted Jolga to be committed to him despite collapsing the image he's built up. Later in the story, Jolga even goes out of his way to incite a disaster as Anri would have.
- Lutora / Malacia. Malacia is head priest and an accomplice to Anri. Lutora is one of the capture targets that helped to condemn Julieta. They have an age gap. They are couple B to this story. Lutora's impression of Malacia drastically changes, and Malacia is a tease, whose emotions are overturned by the unexpected words of Lutora.
- Sigurd /Julieta. Julieta is the former Dragon Priestess, who thanks to Anri's intervention, made it an unbearable role that drove Nasha's sister into insanity. She is also the ex-fiancé of the Crown Prince. She is an impressionable girl. Sigurd is Julieta's 'brother who's not related to her by blood'. His impression of his sister drastically changes and grows affections while guarding her. (He had to be her guard because her devotion as the Sacrificial Priestess means she can only come into physical contact with her family. Dunno why the former Nasha could get familiar with the capture targets.)
- Cain and Abel /Morino. This is an unrequited couple but it's implied at the end of the story. Morino is Anri's successor as prime minister. Cain and Abel are orphanage children with wit and talent for paperwork and swordsmanship.
- Vikram / Vanellope (consort) Vikram is the crown prince who condemned Julieta. His legal wife is Nasha who by the end of the book is touched in the head and is sent to recuperate at the royal villa. Vanellope is his first cousin, and high in IQ and EQ unlike Nasha.
Assuming that it's related to the events in volume 1. I'd like to just comment, I wish that the author started the volume 2 where the epilogue left off. Just because I'm curious to how Anri would behave as a child protagonist and in anticipation for Jolga to transform into a beastman, or not. As well as following how Anri would keep the dragon entertained.
