This is not Mango approved, but this is a damn good read. Unfortunately, it is actually a terrific series which has been packaged with fillers and meaningless dilutions. Despite this, it manages to score a solid 4 in my book.

Let's first go with the obvious negatives: showbiz. There actually is so little of real showbiz, and instead, it is just about pleasing the keyboard warriors. The series is also very slow in its plot progression, as I can see this getting dragged on forever by meaningless drama which will come up later, as part of the backstory of both protagonists. Really, that drama is unnecessary when the author has actually succeeded in creating such a sublime romance.

The romance between the protagonists is the real highlight of this series. For once, it is not a Beauty and the Beast spinoff, as the male lead is actually endlessly likeable while also being cold and unique. While the female lead might seem bland, her dynamic with the male lead and her gradual character development is noteworthy. Their relationship truly matures in a wonderful fashion, except when the author wants to add filler.

What do I mean by filler? These are scenes which can be as long as 50 chapters. They drag down the pace aof their relationship, and the drama elements haven't even properly kicked in even after 152 chapters. While predictable, the read itself is quite enjoyable.

The mechanic of spending money is used very well, and this mechanic is handled carefully, instead of simply converting it into a gimmick. It is explored and understood. Unfortunately, the beauty of the female lead does become a gimmick. A gimmick which can sometimes extend for chapters.

The antagonists persist while being stuck in their dimension. There is no real angst or comedy elements so far, and I hope they don't get included as well.

Ideally, this should have been a purely romance novel with hints of drama. Unfortunately, the author couldn't take the bold move and thus, this is going to end up as a work better than the average one.

Not a work which is Mango approved.
