I hated the MC’s relationship with her birth mother. Partially because it felt forced and also because I really disliked the mother. The author kept insisting that she’s a kind and beautiful person but all she’s shown is undue favoritism first towards Sheng Man and then towards the MC and in general a lack of judgement. Also a pet peeve of mine is lost family members recognizing each other or feeling some sort of supernatural attraction to each other for no other reason than having a biological relation. It feels forced and unrealistic imo. I liked the growth of the MC and ML’s romance however.Dropped.
