I Help the Richest Man Spend Money to Prevent Disasters Chapter 501 Discussion

So I like the romance well enough. Big kudous for Spoiler

Gu Ren stepping up to say I love you first and admitting he knew her in previous world. I'm really sick of the person who knows their feelings pressuring the other person into saying it first or just dilly dallying on the matter forever. So yay for an adult that communicates!

I hate the Sheng family because Spoiler

you don't adopt a kid for your own mental health, raise her to be awful (because of your mental health), and then cut her off emotionally and financially the second you get your mental health back. I'm sorry, but the mom is pretty selfish. I understand she was in pain and I understand she was angry at Sheng Man's family when she learns the truth. But she adopted a child in bad faith and was never a real mother to her. If she ever loved Sheng Man, there's a chance Sheng Man would have turned out differently. Sheng Man grew up a child worker, employed by all the adults to do the same task: her adoptive parents and bio dad all required she make her 'mom' happy and play the role of the perfect daughter. She did not get genuine affection back from any of them, she only received money for a job well done. Naturally, she grew up twisted. Since mom never loved SM, I wouldn't expect her to keep her around, but I do think she was morally obligated to offer her severance pay or a retirement plan. Afterall, SM worked hard for over a decade.

There are chunks of information never provided, especially about their backstories and the spending mechanics. Spoiler

Did they die before transmigrating? GR came to this world years before, did they leave their original worlds at different times? If so, did he die before her? If he didn't die, did she notice someone different in his body? Did they both 'leave' at the same time, but 'arrive' at different times? How did he feel suddenly having a family in this world? Did she have a family in the original world? Do they want to go back or do they prefer this world? What exactly did happen in the novel with the birth family when they found out the truth? Does spending a lot of money all at once last longer? Or is it better to spend smaller amounts consistently? Because, I'd probably have bought myself an island and some properties I could rent out.

So, the book is okay. Interesting premise. Not sure all the pieces work the way the author wants them to. I did have to do some skimming after chapter 350 or so. I didn't need to read detailed accounts of SM being humiliated or other family drama.
