I normally don't like giving reviews before I finish a book, but I just could not do that with this one. I personally can forgive a lot of things on the premise that this is a work of fiction, and I'd like to say that I don't mind the overbearing CEO/ML trope as long as there's enough cute scenes and he's merely possessive and not a total creep. But this was definitely a novel I could barely finish because of the ML. The ML in the first arc took the overbearing CEO/chairman/person in power trope to a rather disturbing place (spoilers down below for the first arc) :

Spoiler

So, basically, the ML, after beginning his relationship with the MC, proceeds to track not only his location but his very "emotions" through what is essentially a heart monitor (this was disguised as a birthday gift I believe to the MC). Around chapter 20 or so, he is notified of the fact that the MC's mood has suddenly fluctuated/he's gone into shock. He rushes back home as a result, and this is where I could no longer tolerate the ML of this novel. This is my own personal opinion, but the fact that he monitors him through a heart rate monitor (I believe) is so beyond the bounds of a healthy relationship. I've read a lot of novels on this site where the power dynamics between two people were definitely uneven, and I have a lot of opinions about those as well. But this in particular seems very invasive, and it's frustrating to know that every single one of these worlds will be HE despite the ML's actions.

There are so many other wonderful novels out there on NU that I'd recommend people read a thousand times over this one. The ML is overbearing in an almost creepy way, and the only redeeming factor is the MC, whose relationship with his cat in the first arc was the only rare shining light in the chapters that I read. If this novel gets better with the later arcs, I'd love to see it. But I'd only recommend this to people who enjoy fairly cute but maaaybe oblivious MCs who are shoved around by black bellied MLs who don't care how invasive they are. I'd say maybe some people might find the MC to be annoying if they don't like the more "innocent" type, though I'd argue he isn't as much as maybe other MCs in other novels. But I think that's more personal taste than anything else.

I'd say give it a chance if you would like, but as someone who personally gets frustrated with MLs who take surveillance to a whole new level, if you are also someone who feels similarly, I suggest you maybe find something else to read.
