Alright so, I have very mixed feelings about this story.Let’s be positive, so I’ll list the pros first:- I loved the concept of mixing a cliched transmigration bl with a psychological thriller type plot, and I’m super invested right now.- It’s well written so far, where everyone has their mysteries, and so many easily overlooked details are great foreshadowing- the relationship was a bit fast for me but it’s pretty cute (?) And now the cons (be warned, they’re pretty major) :- This is undeniably transphobic. For all the reviewers who have been like “blah blah blah we don’t know if OG was actually trans” um did any of you read the story? OG was literally going to get a s*x reassignment surgery.- Also portrayal of mental illness is pretty damn harmful. Lots of romanticising manic tendencies, and classifying transgender as ‘gender dysphoria’ is insulting and an outdated way people marginalised transgenders by deeming them mentally ill. I’m also pretty sure the MC uses the term “shen jing bing” to describe mental illness, which is basically what Chinese people use to call people crazy. Kinda insensitive ngl.- Thirdly (this is more personal beef I've got with the story) it’s anti-makeup and stereotypes a lot of people. One line I really hated was something along the lines of “Normal straight men shouldn’t know about makeup.”Yep so thanks for reading bye :)
