This was a great novel. It was actually one of the first novels I picked up when I started reading translated Cnovels. It was being translated by someone else, before the updates stopped coming. I felt sad, thinking it would remain incomplete, but then it was picked up again. And now, its complete!

The story itself has its usual tropes that come with the rebirth genre. Using future knowledge to become rich, punishing the bad guys. However, unlike other novels, the author's choice punishing its villains was truly unique and refreshing.

Take my favorite character, Qi Kai. He seemed very one dimensional. Your typical bully that is only there to annoy the MC with schemes that fall apart easily. Yet the author did him a service by giving him a character arc and unexpected growth. Spoiler

He was a bad guy for sure. Arrogant and spoiled but he end up redeeming himself. After his Uncle involved him in the drug trade, his life just went down hill. His grandfather died and he was taken to the jungle to grow poppy. With the help of a little girl, he managed to escape, only to be caught by the police and for a bullet to end the little girl's life. Her death left a mark on him, but it also made him decide to help the police. This cooperation reduced his prison sentence and once he was out, he went back to that village to dedicate himself to helping others.

The author could have just left him a bully that was arrested and left to rot in jail. Or he could have died. Yet Qi Kai got an ending that I couldn't help but be extremely satisfied.

The other characters, including the ML and MC, got their happy ending. Sure it wasn't as satisfying as Qi Kai but it's was an expected HE. ML and MC's relationship was smooth from start to finish. There was a slight misunderstanding between them at first, but that was resolved quickly enough. Then it was a roses afterwards. Not a bad thing, but if you wanted conflict then this was not it.

Overall, a very good read and I love the translators that did an amazing job making this both an enjoyable and easy read. Thank you to the author and the translators for their work.
