The face-slaps in this novel goes hard. It gets to the point where I actually felt a sliver of sympathy. Like my goodness, it gets crazy. I'm at the point where I haven't totally completed the novel, but my fingers kept twitching to type my thoughts out & do a brain-dump so here I am. For the most part, this novel earns five-stars for me. The last ten-something chapters could be total garbage for all I care, but 90% of this novel had given me a myriad of emotions to the point where I just need to give it 5-stars.Is it poignant, life-changing? No. It's incredibly entertaining if you like drama, redemption-themes, engaging characters, & a strong power couple. MC is given a second chance in life & goes back to the turning point of his youth before sh*t hit the fan. His grandfather just passed away & he has to counter his insidious relatives. The premise is pretty basic; nothing new or eye-catching. It's the character development, the hindsight, the literal EPIPHANIES OF REBIRTH that made me unable to put this novel down. Not only that, but the comedic tones and antics really adds a flavor to the story. More or less, the side characters have relevancy & respective roles. It's very gratifying to read a rags-to-riches story, especially if they're written well. I have n0 knowledge on stocks; I wish I was stock savvy. This novel really made me wish on a star that I could possibly be able to read stocks because I would never pull what MC did.It's the smut for me. Not explicit, but detailed enough to paint a good picture in my head. I was not expecting anything, but when I got to it--I was LOCKED IN. Thank you.
