The Immortal Wife Is Like A Cloud Chapter 500 Discussion

This novel kept me hooked until chapter 500, and I think it deserves at least 4 stars. These days, it’s hard to find a harem xianxia genre novel that’s this enjoyable for me. I’m not a great reviewer, but I’ll share what I think are the bads and goods of this novel.

The Good:

Story Pace: The story progresses very slowly, but I really like it. It’s a good read; the events in 500 chapters span only a few months. The writing and translation are also well-done.

MC’s Personality: The protagonist is very mature, calm, and maintains a low profile. He avoids actions that don’t benefit him. He’s not bloodthirsty, which I appreciate. However, after a few hundred chapters, his personality changes slightly (no spoilers here). While I still like him, he starts feeling a bit more generic later on.

Harem Development: The heroines don’t fall in love easily, which I really enjoy. Their relationships with the MC feel developed and natural, with plenty of meaningful interactions. In 500 chapters, only one heroine has dual-cultivated with the MC, while the others are still in the development stage.

Side Characters: The side characters are typical for xianxia but are not poorly done.

Character Depth: Overall, the characters feel alive.

The Bad:

Crowds: If you’ve read a lot of xianxia, you’ll know what I mean, the gossipy crowds that constantly chatter about the situation. It's not repetitive but nope.

Forced Situations: Some heroines or side characters suddenly move to another region or a "top region realm" and tell the MC, Meet me there after you become stronger, like what? Why?. Their reasons often feel forced or unexplained.

Overpowered Elements: While I usually enjoy overpowered protagonists, the MC’s plot armor feels excessive at times. Not only does he have a cheat ability, but he also has an incredibly strong protector whose full power is unknown. I miss the early chapters of MC.

After 500 chapters, I’ve started to feel a bit bored, but overall, the novel has been satisfying. If you enjoy xianxia harem stories, I recommend giving this one a try, it’s worth the read!
