Alita is evolving as a character at a nice rate. She's getting powerful and figuring herself out a bit more. She was able to block Makaku's kick and even throw him down. Makaku decides to escape from the body he was inhabiting before it explodes and was able to constrict Alita, but she breaks his grip and is ready to deal the final blow, but notices that his face is already heavily damaged from the shrapnel of the explosion. Makaku knows he's done for and chooses to blow himself up along with Alita. Alita was able to defend the both of them from the explosion with her magnetic field ability. She questions Makaku about why he chose to take on such a monstrous form. We get a little flashback of Makaku growing up in the sewer. The way he bit off that rats head was disturbing. Savage. Makaku ended up getting severely burned by some terrible people on the surface. Left for dead, he ends up being saved by a doctor with a symbol on his forehead that Ido also has. Makaku burns away and Alita sheds a tear for him feeling sorry for him in the end.
