It's sweet with just the right amount of intrigue. The relationship MC and ML is nice. ML is clearly obsessed with MC but makes his dreams come true so other than being super clingy, he doesn't really control MC. There's some angst in the middle when they get separated but it's pretty short. Spoiler
I know some people will ask "why did MC go through all the trouble of faking his death and putting the ML through all that anguish." MC grew up his entire life with the knowledge that getting involved with palace politics doesn't lead to a good end. And at that point in the story he knows the ML is important to him but didn't realize how much. So all he can think of is to escape from the palace and go home but he didn't want them looking for him. It's not until ML goes crazy that he realizes both their feelings for each other are way more serious than he thought.
