I find it hard to not despise novels with harem tags normally but...I find it equally difficult to consider this... a ‘harem’?As of writing, I mean. One character shows interest in MC, and at most, two actually loves him. Unless you consider ‘MC being around a lot of female main characters’ the only requirement for harem which I surely don’t.Either way, worldbuilding is very unique honestly. Particularly regarding the end of the Tantalus arc, very juicy deets there. Characters actually have personalities and the main character being made intentionally mysterious makes for interesting moments regarding what his past truly is, his name even remains a mystery for a while. At the same time, his personality is pretty great and makes up half the comedy of the novel honestly.Despite others screaming ‘plot armor’, I only consider Spoiler
The first encounter with Shei to be somewhat plot armor but even then, calling it a miracle is a bit of a stretch consider the sword’s widthless nature make it easy to deflect if one targets the side and it’s way easier to miss and hit the side than directly hit the tip of such a sword. Because otherwise, everything else is pretty well-explained. The main character is in Tantalus because a lot of prisoners and laborers died and they needed new laborers (staff) to fill in the area. Mind reading I doubt will just be something given to MC by chance and that will be very interesting when why and how he has such an ability.
