The T*ash Wants to Live Chapter Completed Discussion

The opening of this book is pretty rough, a bunch of exposition and a weak tutorial to help the protagonist get his bearing in a world from a webnovel.

I don't really recommend this novel, with the character's not being too interesting other than two characters. The ability to receive a person's ability through kissing is a fun thing but also, uh... annoying. I am kind of nitpicking but it grows boring after so many times and the person who is kissing, just doesn't think of it as kissing at a point.

I read the rest on Ridibooks.

Spoiler

There is too many, many, loose ends that makes this story difficult to recommend due to how it ended. I have too many grievances with how the plot developed and its ending left me completely sour.

  • No resolution for the other boys who are practically dumped because the story ended at a confession. A confession is great but they didn't even kiss at the end? Or something more emotional to touch the poor romantic confession than a hug?
  • The side characters got pushed aside for progress that I even forgot who is who at a certain point because they only appear when they have a role to fulfill and the author really like skipping over stuff. Sure, I wish to read only the main characters too, but I want to care about other characters too if they have roles to play in the story. You can argue they have enough exposure for the reader to know them well enough, but it is like a story begins with no definite existence. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
  • I have an objective taste when it comes to tropes; I am pretty forgiving to the plainest of tropes that exist as long as it is an interesting setup. But after the fight with that one guy and the dog being reluctant fighting, I expect the big, final boss be some overwhelming stuff. Especially with the dragon lady. But it is a boring concept with the mind "ultimate world peace" determining the flow of the invaders in the most boring setup possible. It makes everything that happen look like a sad joke and I hate that. It feels like the suffering of other worlds is pathetic for falling to such a boring entity and how the main character solve the problem is kind of lame too (though I did like how he realize his own feelings for someone due to these problems existing. That is a nice touch.)

Even after listing all these, I am still sour after a week since I finished this story. I want some proper conclusion, not whatever that ending was suppose to be. And the confession is so weak that when I finished the story, I stare at my phone going, "that's it?"

[collapse]

I would rate this lower, but I did enjoy some of it enough to keep on reading it. In my understanding of ratings (for me), a 3 star meant it isn't good enough to recommend but enough to read to the end. But if there is decimals, this story is easily 2.5 because the characters are just boring, with only the siblings with some minor growth and everyone is staying still while timeskips are happening in a flash.

Again, I don't recommend this story unless you like this one. I read it to the end since I do enjoy reading tr*shy stories, but I really hate the ending.

Yes, so tragic to have your baby's father be rich and involved...
