maybe my problem centered around the ML and his involvement in the development of the MC? In other stories in this genre, it usually starts with the MC (and ML) being in a desperate situation. They both have things to hide. MC, his transmigration/reincarnation, and ML, his maybe hidden potential or part of his past or background that he wouldn't have been able to unlock well without the MC.
In this genre, the MC and ML are forced into a partnership, where they have to struggle to survive and grow against huge odds, with only each other to rely on, learning to trust and love each other along the way.
I'm not saying this book has to be like the others, but maybe that's why I found it boring. Early on we realize, there is barely any struggle at all. MC doesn't need to make money because ML is OP behind the scenes. The conflict is mostly because ML can't divulge his OP-ness to the MC and MC's assumption of ML being a weak medicine jar.
[collapse]There was also a lot of telling vs showing.Others in this genre I would recommend for those who enjoyed this, or maybe were left wanting:-Accompanied by a Fool To Do Farming-Transmigration of Mian [Reluctantly] Becomes His Man [Wife]-Transmigrated to a Blacksmith's Husband-Butcher Fulang's Noodle ShopAnd many more lol
