The horror! This novel is a distasteful, soulless, and racist abomination. A travesty on every level that insults the intelligence of every reader who dares to pick it up. The author's attempt at storytelling is marred by cringeworthy dialogue, one-dimensional characters, and a narrative that's as predictable as a knock-knock joke. The writing itself is as flat as a failed soufflé and is about as witty as a kindergartener's playground chant.

This book's cultural representation is a slap in the face. I don't go into details about this in the spoiler, so feel free to open it.

The outdated and harmful tropes about black men being portrayed as dangerous and thieves are embarrassing. Meanwhile, the blonde British character is mocked for his supposed 'genetic baldness', perpetuating stereotypes about British men's hair loss. And don't even get me started on other aspects, like how the Americans are depicted as one-dimensional villains, and teenagers are shown as reckless and unsavory, It's clear the author has a biased and inaccurate view of the country and its people.

The character development is laughable, with every non-Chinese person being reduced to a tokenistic mention of their nationality or ethnicity. It's like a kindergarten-level attempt at diversity, where characters are simply listed off like items on a checklist. Give me a break. This is insulting, lazy, and an affront to the very concept of cultural representation.

The couple at its center is a toxic, emotionally stunted duo with the emotional intelligence of a pair of rocks. They're stuck in a never-ending cycle of break-ups and make-ups over trivial nonsense, acting like brats who can't function outside of their own bubble. It's infuriating to watch these two "adults" behave like this, and it's a wonder anyone can stand to be around them for more than five minutes.

It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion, with the couple careening from one manufactured crisis to the next, each one more ridiculous than the last. Despite their best efforts, they're unable to break free from the cycle of drama, perpetually getting tangled in a web of hurt feelings and misunderstandings that seem to only worsen with each passing chapter.

It feels like the author took every terrible romance novel cliché and mashed them together into a big ol' mess of schmaltz and vomit. And what's with this laughable excuse for a "fan translation"? It's simply a lazy, unedited disaster that's only being sold (chapter 62 onwards) to exploit unsuspecting readers.

To end my review, this novel is an affront to literature, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I cannot believe just wasted 61 chapters of my life reading this flaming hot drivel.
