When you've read too many court drama with complex MCs who took chapters to scheme something, simple MLs like Jia Bao are like refreshing breeze. Sure, this novel did dealt with questionable themes which might be your personal squick, but that's common in novels about ancient China, so that's that.My real rating is 4.5 stars because the author likes to describe unnecessary things i.e family lines and court relationship in long paragraphs. I can't care less about who is whose daughter or this concubine is this super important person's niece.
