Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha Chapter v5 Discussion

The idea is good and the story actually isn't bad at all, but the way it's presented makes it a pain to read. It's far too slow paced and gets far too stretched out as completely and utterly useless information is written page after page, as if you're reading some sort of guidebook instead of a fantasy story.

However, since the story is actually quite good, it makes for a great manga and anime. Too bad that the original novel is a pain to read. The anime and manga greatly compresses the story and remove useless fluff that no one asked for and no one wants to waste time reading.

This author needs to read up on what irrelevance in writing is and why it's a horrible practice. Stay on the god damn subject, don't stray too far from the current predicament, add information fluently and naturally as the situation calls for it and don't god damn add far more than necessary about something people WILL forget anyway. This author has potential but needs some writing lessons on the basics of what to do and not to do, the manga and anime proves this has potential to be an awesome novel.

I guess it might also be on purpose, to write much about nothing is typical especially of chinese novels where they're paid for word count, it's a way to easily fill out tons of pages. I could write a volume like this in a less than a month easily if I was allowed to just randomly stray from the subject and fill page after page of drivel that has no meaning. If I ab*sed that enough, I could probably write a volume's worth of content in a week because I'd just be gushing words out of my behind instead of carefully going over what I wrote and cut out superfluous content. Of course I'm not saying this novel took little effort to write, the written stuff has clear thought and consideration put in, but it's still irrelevant information that not only doesn't add to the story but subtracts from it. A shame, really, but at least the manga is great.
