4.5*STORY explores a very complicated romantic balance between the two leads, world hopping;MC is one of the most complex I've characters I've read, his character is bold, driven, manipulative, angry and twisted; he never backs down or accepts that he can't better himself, it's admirable but this attitude leads to him hurting the person he can't admit to caring about, ROMANCE: complicated, note this is not a fluffy read and their love is a bit unhealthy, Spoiler
ML is obsessed with mc;
MC is manipulative, dangerous, and a bit abusive to ML but pushes ML to stand on his own and be his own strength, I think the following quote from the MC sums up the complexity of disdain and respect he has for ML (yan Qin)..
"Yan Qin didn't need anyone to become his light, because he himself was light."
[collapse]CONS : It gets frustrating when MC keeps belittling and manipulating ML in order to feel secure and in control and the story starts to drag / get repetitive after a couple arcs
