Author is very adept at annoying a reader:

- characters are trying to find information that a reader already knows

- characters are acting dumb for no apparent reason

- plot stretched out to the extreme

- pacing is a horrible mess

- pov changes very frequently and at completely inopportune moments

- etc.

Basically it's a very simplistic story with unlikeable characters told very badly.
