My rating is 2.5I really wanted to like this novel as the magic, locations and descriptions, although not original, are well written, making me want to know more about the world but the novel has a fatal flaw: its aimless. The story starts with the MC getting dumped by his childhood friend and him wanting to forget her until one day a comet came crashing down near the town and discovered a magic sword that turned his life upside down, ending up in generic KR magic academy. But why? The MC is never told he has to overcome a great evil, he doesn't desire fame, power or wealth nor he has shown any great deal of attachment towards anyone so far, even his master. We're never shown his internal struggle to adapt to his new life, his needs or wants. He has no purpuse, only doing whatever instructions his master gives him, thing he recognizes in later chapters. His relationship with his master is another point, as chapters go by she gradually warmps up to his pressence and one could say she even falls in love with him, yet we're told she is colder that the winter in Russia towards anyone else. What great deed has he done to deserve her care? As far as I've read, literally nothing. This also applies to the FL. The guy refused to say even a word during their first interactions yet they cannot get the guy out of their heads, when the guy has literally done nothing. No matter how powerful, misterious or handsome the guy is, that attitude just causes apathy not interest.
