He was hurt. He knows the pain. So he doesn’t allow his kids to feel that pain. He also knows those kids are not regular kids. They have suffered. So he tried to lessen it even if a little. He wants them to be just kids, kids averaging 9 years old.
He also does not accept enemies as friends just because they became good. They need to prove themselves they won’t ever hurt his family again and prove their worth to his plans. And he let them have their revenge but still doesn’t trust them completely. Caz they were enemies once. And he makes them suffer as much as they deserve. (Hannah, dragon half-blood, Clopeh)
And he is not perfect. He failed. But he learns. And he never fail twice.
[collapse]The side characters are well written too. They have their own stories and their stories were told.SpoilerI like dragon half-blood’s character. He is an enemy but he is not a bad person. Just a manipulated child with good heart.
[collapse]SpoilerAnd you understand more about Clopeh in book 2 and he is the most interesting character for me now. His devotion is not just a simple one but simply understandable.
[collapse]And let’s be honest. It is so satisfying to read the book where MC doesn’t have to suffer.Spoilernot sure about that caz he’s always coughing blood and his family has trauma with that but you know what I mean.
[collapse]AlsoSpoilerWinning every battle is so satisfying even tho we know they will win. No drama, no anxiety, so much satisfaction. And sudden plot twists are the best, especially during the battle.
[collapse]This is the book with the most unique characters. Try it if you want to enjoy something new.
