T*ash of the Count’s Family Chapter 717 Discussion

I just read the review by alominus and I just had to write this. You have only read the beginning chapters, right? I have currently read all the translated chapters and AMAZING doesn't even begin to describe it. At the beginning I was also like you thinking that how can a nerdy korean living a normal life not be bothered by blood and war even if he thinks he's in a book he read?? But my, how was I proven wrong. Just wait until his past is revealed and you will understand why he can easily make strategies about War and isn't fazed by the blood and gore of the battlefield. And just you reach the 700+ chapters when the past and present of his (his Rok soo life and Cale life) begin to interwine and then you will be left thinking "what? What? WHAT?!!!IS THAT WHAT HAPPENED? GOODNESS WHAT A TWIST!!" Basically it is nothing like those other novels where a simple office worker transmigrates into a novel and suddenly becomes so powerful, cunning and scheming. Don't judge before reaching the part where his past is revealed, please.

It will actually be unnatural if Cale vomits seeing blood and corpses being chopped or doesn't know how to make fight strategy, after getting to know his past.

Spoiler

Actually as Kim Rok Soo, there was an apocalypse and monsters appeared all over the world. Rok soo survived in a destroyed world filled with monsters for nearly two decades and when he transmigrated into 'The Birth of a Hero' he was actually a team leader of a team of a guild that fought against monsters. So he won't really react like a normal office worker but like a team leader who fought against monsters for half his life when he makes strategies for war. He won't be sick and nauseous seeing blood and corpse being chopped when he has seen an unranked monster killing more than half the population of Busan. And that was the weakest unranked monster. Also about the little details like, in the beginning about the attack at Lock's village where there was a difference from the story cale read and mention about 'seed', I had really forgotten about that but the author connects and explains that at four hundred or so chapters.

[collapse]

This is a mind-blowing book and the author has done an amazing job of tying the loose ends. Every little detail is taken care of and in the later chapters we even come to know the reason about his transmigration, what happened to the original Cale and the truth behind 'The Birth of a Hero'. As much as it is humorous, it's also quite serious, sad and suspenseful at times. The character development is very good and the interactions between characters are nice and cute (especially between cale and his kids). Just be a little patient as some little details and puzzles are explained in the later parts. If these parts would have been explained earlier it would destroyed the storyline and fun. Even if you think that the beginning is slow and Cale is wasting time doing unnecessary things then Wait, those are actually quite important and you will see the absolute need of the beginning to be a tiny bit slow paced after a hundred chapters or so (and by slow paced I mean no wars). To anybody hesitating surely read this. It's too a good a book to be missed. IT'S A MUST READ BOOK WITH COMEDY, ADVENTURE, FUNNY MISUNDERSTANDINGS, A LITTLE HEARTACHE, AND WONDERFUL PLOTLINE.
