MC gets asked if he wants to ascend but he won't comeback or if he wants to stay, and he basically rejects it bcs he's been through so much heartache through these 9 lives. He ends up regretting it almost instantly while he's floating away and then the novel ends with the girls all ascending to meet him. Anticlimactic since there were like 3 other heroines that also didn't appear but I guess like him, as well as the fox girl and ghost girl also sorta just ending off their whole chain of things. Still a decent ending since it's not just he goes away and everyone forgets him or whatever but definitely feel like the author just sold a clean 5/5 bcs he sorta just wrote home self into a hole with making nearly every force be on the mc's side in the middle world or destroyed. Definitely still not saying it's bad, but I wish there was more, even if it kept the same sorta ending with everyone gathering to meet MC in the immortal world. Felt like maybe the author didn't want it to turn into MC going to face off against multiple protagonist like other novels and lose the whole plot of people remembering all the good MC tried to do since part way through the novel towards the end he gets an item that just straight up tracks the son of destiny.
