They miraculously transmigrated into the same time. ML went into the sole son of a great general who became a fearsome general himself caught between a power struggle of his princely cousins who are all fighting for the throne. He also moonlights as the mysterious owner of powerful businesses spanning across the country and its subordinate countries. FL is more unfortunate and transmigrated into a poor family's severely ab*sed and emaciated child. She and an older brother are children of the farmer's previous wife who died. The father is unfeeling towards her and lets the children's step mother treat them like tr*sh. The saving grace is that her brother is the sis-con type, is very kind and protects her at all costs.
FL is cute, talented, with a powerful personality and attracts a host of handsome men who protect her. It is a good thing that most of them seem to only care for her as good friend or family.
In the rise to power, there are obvious hints that she isn't the Gu's family biological daughter. When she finds her real family, it is very sweet. Everyone in the family adores her very much. Her bio father and brothers are all extremely doting, and her brothers announced to the marriage market that the most important requirement in finding a wife is that the woman must love their sister. Both of her retired grandpas (Chu and Gu) work tirelessly to make her winery successful in order to have more dowry for her. Don't even need to mention her mother because she also thinks the world of FL. Basically FL's home life is the complete opposite of what she suffered in early life.
ML learned from his past mistake of overcrowding FL and thus making her run away from him in their previous lives. So, while he is a frozen mountain to his subordinates and cruel to his enemies, he becomes insufferably sweet and doting to FL and letting her have her way in all things. He feeds her food by hand, rocks her hammock while fanning her as she naps.. etc. Extreme doting type.
Here's where it is disturbing and hard to digest for a lot of readers (for all readers hopefully). While FL is a 30 something y o at heart, her current physical body is of an 11 y o. She is a pe*vert who loves handsome men and caresses ML inappropriately while healing him. ML just goes a long with it because he knows her true age, but... it is still quite disturbing. They also talk suggestively to each other sometimes (e.g. she was touching his muscles and he was like... I have somethig harder... do you wanna touch? EXCUSE ME?? She's12!!! And while they were digging out of a cave, he suggestively talked about his stamina lol) She doesn't do this with the other handsome suitors, but it's enough to give an ick. Thankfully, her brother and adopted grandpa rightfully in opposition.
Due to this phsyical age dynamic, I feel the chemistry is a bit off despite the ML's sweet doting.
