There are people who like it, people who don't. I think it's a good serie and people should try it to see if it suits them or not, rather than not even reading it based on negative reviews.It starts a bit dark but after it becomes more like a slow pace country/power building serie.I enjoy the character and I want to see where the story will go. But I can understand that some people would be disappointed with the lack of tension, or rather the absence of "risk" for the characters. That's the kind of feel-good story where main characters won't die. Or maybe just one if the author wants to be dramatic. It's a bit of a shame, since it reduces the tension but I got attached to all the characters evolving around the hero, so I am fine with it.
