My liking of the story (and don't get me wrong, I do enjoy it) is dampened by the fact that, while the two main male leads are allowed to be mopey, mourning AH's over the loss of their mother/ wife nearly a decade and a half ago, the OG FL, who is a literal CHILD, was ultimately disliked, used, and neglected because she didn't have the emotional capacity to baby them, being in full mourning herself from the recent deaths of her entire family, her traumatic debt situation, her sudden child marriage, and her terminal illness.

It's only when the MC, (with no emotional connections and certain knowledge she can cure herself), takes over her body and spends exorbitant amounts of time petting their egos and healing their wounds with faked, carefully curated, Polyanna brightness, do they even begin to like her and mildly regret treating her like a meat shield.

Do consider that the Duke, with full knowledge his brand new DIL has a fatal terminal illness and having witnessed her coughing with his own eyes, ignores her for three straight months after picking her up at her parents' funeral. Never called a doctor, despite the maids seeing her cough blood, not even for palliative care. While it's true she was certain to die, and that was the exchange for taking care of her, they didn't need to be dicks about it as it happened.

Ironically, her being emotionally manipulative and fake makes her ideally matched to this selfish, dark, and villainous family, so it oddly works.
