I loved this novel enough to push through hundreds of MTLed chapters and I'd say it's worth it. The MC and ML are very sweet and like to be physically affectionate before and after their relationship goes from s*x friends to lovers. ML's entire family is hilarious, especially the older brother. The antagonists are dealt with around the middle so you don't have to worry about the fighting to drag out. MC pursues his original acting career and steps into the entertainment industry again. There's no dog blood fights in the industry that the MC experiences (surprisingly). ML is uncomfortable with a few life choices that the MC makes but is still very supportive. The MC and ML are so sweet that when the angst first hits, your heart will ache until it stops. I'm pretty impressed with how the MC isn't all that hell-bent on following the original plot line and actually considers how the ML felt in the OG story. So THAT angst ends in like 10 chapters (dw the chapters aren't that long anyway). I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a sugary sweet story with sprinkles of angst and a shot of comedy. I can't get over how much Han Yu teases his little brother and the misunderstandings that Bai Xuege has about the main CP's car and driver relationship.
