First thing - it's greatly written. It's just that pleasant to read. I couldn't bear it, and went to check, what've the author done beside this, and... Wow. "World of Otome games is hard for mobs", one of my favourite novels. But this one is even better! It's not a serious story. Comedic undertone is so strong, it could be even called a parody series. But the army building aspect here is anything but a joke. Most prominent part and a culmination of each volume is huge scale space battles with tens of thousands of battleships and cqc with small mecha/mobile armour. This novel combines a lot of my beloved tags - misunderstandings, sci-fi, fantasy, AI, loyal subordinates. I like how MC has a lot of "power" - not only personal fighting strengh, but the one of a ruler. Be it bribes, information gathering or personal assassin corps, you will believe that he will get anything he wants in this world, not because of some fickle "plot armour", but because of everything he built with his own efforts and decisions (even with a joke reasoning like "I want to be the best villain").For me the only problem is the lack of proper side characters. Just as main character is great, they all are lacking as much. Most of them are treated as (and actually are) just a joke. It's getting better recently, with multiple POV's, and some of the new ones have great potintial, but we really need to spend more time with them. I pray for greater Amagi's presence!Anyway, it's great as a whole and still has lots of potential. This author has become my favourite, and his works are just increasing in quality with time. Bias 10/10 from me, would read again.
