Holy hell, this is just about the most mind-blowing, tragic, yet empowering system novel that I have ever read, even though I had to fight through confusing MTL for the last half. (The translation is great, btw, and I sent the translator money via kofi for it). Seeing Han Yanyan grow over time, fight past despair to basically win her freedom, and lose the person she loved (and was loved by) the most in order to finally be her own woman was sad, exhilarating, and epic all at once. Absolutely everything in this story feels fresh and unique and interesting and I just loved it to pieces. Highly recommended if you want to read a story that is FAR from any of the cliches in the genre!
