Many protagonists in romcom novels proclaim "I am not the Main Character!" and many of them are filthy liars, but this novel is a rare case where this elusive feeling that world doesn't revolve around protagonist is very strong. After giving up on his main-character syndrome, Wataru drifts aimlessly on the currents of life, encountering many many characters, and pretty much every one of them is busy with their own things: family, friends, clubs, part-time jobs, etc.Overall, though technically in a romcom genre, this novel has very little romance, and comedy is heavily tinted in melancholic tones. Don't expect a "regret"-type novel either: our main heroine needs a lot of character emotional development to do before she can self reflect enough to experience such emotions.I like this story very much, but it's a very precise hit right into my tastes, so there's a lot of personal bias involved. LN version, due to getting a editorial pass, is slightly better, you should get your hands on it if you're interested.
