I found it extremely difficult to like the ML. As the FL describes it, he's "neurotic, childish, and overbearing, " and he doesn't get better — he gets s*upidly worse.Typical MLs have their jealousy moments here and there, but his jealousy is so irrational that by the fifth time it popped up in the story, I had to drop it. The first thing he does whenever he gets upset, even when he's not jealous, is to turn away from her. Then I have to pathetically watch as FL coaxes the crap out of the emperor, calling him the greatest, and boosting his ego up. He gets jealous over a guy she has never even met in a person, has never spoken to, and constantly believes that she likes him. She has to constantly coax him every time, and it's frustrating to watch. At one point, FL jumped into the river to avoid a scheme where she'd meet a guy and be pegged as unfaithful to the emperor. After breaking her leg, the emperor talks to her about her being schemed against and gets s*upidly angry at her, thinking that she jumped into the river for the other guy's sake. This is just one of the many moments where this guy conjures up the s*upidest sh*t to get upset about.Even after reading so many overbearing MLs, this is by far one of my least-favorite MLs. All the characters in the story lack any dimension. The story by itself, is bland, even for slice-of-life being my favorite genres. I usually push myself to power through a novel, but I had to keep stopping every two chapters because it was so boring.
